Jonathan Howard Schwartz is an associate based in Kaufman, Payton & Chapa's Farmington Hills office. He concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance law, complex-commercial disputes, toxic torts, first amendment law, and art fraud litigation. Mr. Schwartz represents clients based in Michigan, throughout the United States, and internationally. Mr. Schwartz received a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2004, and a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 2007. While in law school, he worked as an intern for the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, and for Justice Elizabeth "Betty" Weaver at the Michigan Supreme Court. Mr. Schwartz began working as a Summer Associate for Kaufman, Payton & Chapa in 2006, and was hired as an associate attorney after his bar admission.
Mr. Schwartz has been quoted on legal matters in publications such as The Detroit News, Law.com, Crain's Detroit Business, and The Art Newspaper. He has also authored articles focusing on insurance law and regulations.
